EMS Evaluator Workshop

The purpose of evaluator workshops is to teach methods and techniques to enable individuals to provide reliable, objective practical skill evaluations while properly using evaluation skill forms identified by the Washington State Department of Health.

Practical skills evaluator pre-requisites:

  • Currently certified Washington State EMS provider who has completed at least one certification cycle. Certification must be at or above the level of certification being evaluated.
  • Complete an MPD approved EMS Evaluator Workshop that teaches the methods and techniques of consistent and objective practical skills evaluation using skill evaluation forms identified by the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Complete the EMS Evaluator Application, DOH Form 530-012.
  • Be approved by the Medical Program Director and the Department of Health

Initial Course runs from 9am to 5pm
Update Course runs from 11am to 5pm

EMS Evaluator Course Initial & Update

COURSE OVERVIEW:
The purpose of evaluator workshops is to teach methods and techniques to enable individuals to provide fair, reliable, objective practical skills evaluations while properly using evaluation skill forms identified by the Department of Health.
Successful completion of an EMS Evaluator workshop is required in order to function as an evaluator. EMS Evaluators must be certified at or above the certification level of the individual being evaluated.

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:
Any currently certified EMS provider who has completed at least one certification cycle (and successfully recertified) at or above the level of certification being evaluated is eligible to participate in the workshop.

COURSE COMPLETION REQUIREMENT:

  1. Evaluator course participants must successfully complete all course objectives.
  2. As many evaluations as possible should be accomplished during the EMS Evaluator Course.
  3. EMS Evaluators may only evaluate those practical skills (on other persons) for which they have completed a successful evaluation.
