The NREMT has waived the limits on distributive education – this means you can take the entire NCCP 40HR course fully online AND self-paced! If your certification expires soon, you’ll be automatically enrolled in this course format when you register. EMTs expiring in all other years are required to take the regular NCCP including live online sessions. Our training includes all required topics, allowing currently certified EMTs from any NCCP state to take it.

The (NCCP) Explained

EMTs renewing their NREMT certification need 40 hours of continuing education topics following the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) model.

The NCCP is a total of 40 hours divided into the following components:

NCCR

National Continued Competency Requirements – 20 hours
13 hours of virtual instructor-led training + 7 hours of self-paced online learning.

LCCR

Local Continued Competency Requirements – 10 hours
7 hours of self-paced online learning + BLS Provider certification counts for 3 hours of instructor-led training.

ICCR

Individual Continued Competency Requirements – 10 hours

10 hours of self-paced online learning.

For non-2021 expiring EMTs, topics offered as virtual instructor-led training are administered as live online webinars in accordance with CAPCE/NREMT requirements.

Live webinars schedule for Jan-April 2021 (CST):

  • Mondays: 7p-9/9:30p
  • Sundays: 8p-10/10:30p                            

There are 8 sessions total, and 2 sessions are offered consecutively for 2.2-2.5 hours total, with alternates the second session start time. Sessions are taken in any order to fit your schedule.

Accreditation

Institutionally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE, formerly known as CECBEMS) to provide:

F5 Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT): this online training counts the same as time spent in the classroom.
F3 Distributive Education: self-paced online learning not associated with a live instructor.
This accreditation is the preferred method accepted by the NREMT and most states.
