TRT Active Shooter Training

TRT Training has a Solution for Your Organization. Your organization isn’t generic and neither should your Active Shooter Response training.

TRT Training instructor led classes provide preparation and a plan for individuals and organizations on how to more proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event. Whether it is an attack by an individual person or by an international group of professionals intent on conveying a political message through violence, TRT Training option based tactics have become the accepted response, versus the traditional “lockdown only” approach.

Protection and safety must be the priority in an Active Shooter event or Terrorist Attack. Circumstantial and operational concerns vary in every new situation. TRT Training provides options and classes that address the unique challenges specific to Police/LE, K-12 Schools, Healthcare Facilities, Higher Education,Businesses, Government, and Houses of Worship.
TRT Approach is the next evolution of our core training program. It enhances the way we teach our program from the instructor’s, learner’s, and the organization’s perspectives.
Enhanced TRT Certified Instructor Led Training

Spend less time in the classroom and more time focusing on example scenarios and drills. Learners come to the instructor led training (ILT) with foundational knowledge already developed from the e-Learning

#1  Example Drills & Scenarios

TRT Certified Instructors facilitate kinesthetic skills – skills that are learned through experience.  Imagine learning to swim just by reading a book?

#2  Social Learning

Group interactions (observation & direct instruction) during drills & scenarios enhance learning between participants as they learn from one another as well as the Instructor.

#3  Question & Answers

ALICE Certified Instructors can expand the conversation on how to adapt the training concepts into your specific organization.

#4  Real Time Feedback

Provides opportunity for participants to make mistakes in a controlled environment.  The blended approach facilitates and reinforces learning.

#5  Adaptability

The TRT Certified Instructor can adapt the training content to the specific needs of the participants or the organization.

Financial Challenges

In today’s economy, many hospitals, Schools, Churches, and offices may be struggling financially and thus unable to provide adequate resources, staff and security time, and human resources to provide workplace violence education and training. But shortfalls in these areas could literally be fatal, particularly if personnel perceive they do not work in a safe environment or if administration has not provided policies and procedures to address workplace violence inclusive of the active shooter scenario. Potential risks includes; staff or patient injuries or fatalities, OSHA citations under the General Duty Clause, and damaging media attention.
Unique Challenges in Healthcare

Active shooter events at a healthcare facility present unique challenges; healthcare professionals may be faced with a decision about what to do with patients; visitors will be present; and patients or staff may not be able to evacuate due to age, injury illness, or a medical procedure in progress. There is no single method to respond to an active shooter event, but prior planning and TRT training will allow healthcare professionals to choose the best option during an active shooter situation, with the goal of maximizing lives saved.

TRT can help answer the following questions: What does a healthcare facility do when so many people CAN’T evacuate? There is no way to “Lockdown” every room, how can a hospital “lockdown” or secure in place? Hospitals are limited on staff until help arrives, how would a limited staff counter?
Prepare your Employees for Workplace Violence. Protect your Brand.

Businesses are vulnerable to the potential aftermath of a active shooter, aggressive intruder or mass shooting event. To meet OSHA’s General Duty Clause, each company should be prepared to protect their employees from potential workplace violence should they occur. TRT Training provides you and your employees with strategic response protocols that are designed to help counter violent actions. Our training business program increases the chances of survival for your workplace and employees in addition to protecting your brand reputation and minimizing litigation fees and other fines.
Raising the Bar in School Security

Each school day, our nation’s schools are entrusted to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for approximately 55 million elementary and secondary students in public and nonpublic schools.  Families and communities expect schools to keep their children and safe from all threats including human-caused emergencies such as crimes of violence.  In collaboration with local government and community stakeholders, schools can take steps to plan and prepare to mitigate these threats.  Every school Emergency Operating Procedure (EOP) should include courses of action that will describe how students and staff can most effectively respond to an Active Shooter situation to minimize the loss of life, and teach and train on these practices.  No single response fits all active shooter situations however, making sure each individual knows his or her options for response and can react decisively will save valuable time.
